A man in his 20s has been arrested following a burglary at Barbertown in Droitwich High Street
Droitwich: A burglary took place at Barbertown on High Street on Monday evening. CCTV footage showed two masked men breaking in, one of them wielding a brick.
Police have arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of the crime, but they’re still looking for the second suspect.
Jon Bourne, the shop owner, shared his heartbreak on Facebook. He described the break-in as devastating for his business.
He explained that at around 6:50 PM, the two men smashed the front door window with a brick and made off with a classic Raleigh Chopper bike.
Jon mentioned that there were witnesses who helped the police, and they have CCTV footage from both his shop and nearby stores.
He’s really hoping to get the bike back, as it’s quite unique. He’s even offering a reward for its safe return.
The arrested man is still in police custody. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed the arrest and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
They’re particularly interested in hearing from anyone who might have seen the bike or the suspects.
If you have any info, you can reach out to Police Constable Joshua Cook via email or phone.
