A 40-year-old man was arrested following a hit-and-run that injured two pedestrians in north London during New Year celebrations
London: A 40-year-old guy got himself in a heap of trouble after a hit-and-run that left two people hurt during the New Year festivities.
It all went down just after midnight at the busy junction of Regent’s Park Road and Primrose Hill. The police got calls about a car hitting a pedestrian.
Instead of stopping, the driver took off down Primrose Hill Road and hit another pedestrian. Talk about reckless!
Luckily, a 21-year-old man only had minor injuries and didn’t need any medical help. But the second guy, a 59-year-old, had to be treated by paramedics before heading to the hospital. His injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
Later on, the police arrested the driver on charges of dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm. They even found some controlled drugs on him.
A police spokesperson mentioned they tracked down the vehicle not far from where the incident happened, at the junction of Primrose Hill Road and King Henry’s Road. Good detective work!
And just to clear the air, they confirmed that this incident isn’t linked to any terror activity. Just a reckless driver ruining the New Year for some folks.
