A man has been arrested following a Christmas Day incident involving a teenager in Leamington town centre
Leamington: A man was taken into custody after a teenager was raped in the town centre on Christmas Day. The incident happened early in the morning, between 1am and 3:30am.
Witnesses came to the aid of the 18-year-old woman after the attack. The police have arrested a 20-year-old man from Bristol in connection with the case.
Authorities are urging anyone who might have helped the victim to step forward. They’re also looking for dashcam or CCTV footage from specific areas around town during that time.
Detective Sergeant Nicola Norris mentioned that the community is understandably shaken by this event. She reassured residents that ensuring their safety is a top priority.
She added that there’s been an increased police presence in the area, especially at night. Officers are out and about, ready to chat with anyone who has concerns.
