A 20-year-old man has been arrested following a rape incident involving an 18-year-old woman in Leamington Spa on Christmas Day
Leamington Spa: A man was taken into custody after an 18-year-old woman was raped on Christmas Day. The incident occurred in the town center between 1am and 3.30am.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Bristol last night. He’s still in custody as the investigation continues.
To help people feel safer, police have ramped up patrols in the area. A spokesperson mentioned that they’re working hard to keep the community safe.
They’re asking anyone who saw a white female in a white coat during that time to reach out. They also want dash-cam or CCTV footage from specific streets in the area.
Detective Sergeant Nicola Norris said the community is understandably shaken by this event. She reassured everyone that they’re prioritizing safety and increasing police presence at night.
