A man faces multiple charges after injuring two pedestrians in a hit-and-run incident during New Year celebrations in London
London: So, there was this wild incident right after New Year’s. A 40-year-old guy named Daniel Sterling got himself into some serious trouble. He’s been charged with dangerous driving and assault after hitting two people who were out celebrating.
It turns out he didn’t just stop there. He’s also facing charges for causing serious injury, not providing a drug test, and even having a knife on him. Yikes! Plus, there’s a racially aggravated public order charge in the mix.
The police were called to a busy junction in north London just after midnight when they heard about a car hitting a pedestrian. But here’s the kicker: the driver didn’t stop and took off, hitting another person along the way.
Luckily, one of the victims, a 21-year-old, only had minor injuries and didn’t need any medical help. The other guy, a 59-year-old, was treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital, but his injuries weren’t life-threatening.
Sterling, who lives in Camden, is set to appear in court soon. It’s a pretty shocking start to the year for everyone involved!
