A man faces multiple charges after a hit-and-run incident in London left one pedestrian hospitalized on New Year’s Day
London: A man has been charged after a hit-and-run on New Year’s Day that injured two people. It all kicked off just after midnight when a car hit a pedestrian.
Daniel Sterling, 40, is in hot water for dangerous driving and assault. He’s also facing charges for causing serious injury, not providing a drug test, and even having a knife in public.
The crash happened at the busy junction of Regent’s Park Road and Primrose Hill. The driver didn’t stop and kept going, hitting another pedestrian along the way.
One of the victims, a 21-year-old guy, had minor injuries that didn’t need treatment. The other, a 59-year-old man, was taken to the hospital but thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening.
Sterling, who lives in Camden, is set to appear in court today. The police were quick to respond, having been in the area for New Year’s Eve patrols.
They found the vehicle not far from the scene. The police confirmed that this isn’t being treated as a terrorist incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
