London: So, here’s the scoop. A guy named Imran Chowdury has been charged with helping Daniel Khalife, a former soldier, after he made a break from Wandsworth prison.

Chowdury, who’s 25 and from Chingford, allegedly lent a hand to Khalife right after he escaped back in September 2023. Pretty wild, right?

He got arrested in January 2024 and was officially charged in December through a postal requisition. The Met Police confirmed he’s facing one count of assisting an escaped prisoner.

Chowdury is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 7. It’ll be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Oh, and there was also a 25-year-old woman who got arrested in February 2024 on suspicion of helping an offender, but the police said no further action is being taken against her.

This is still a developing story, so stay tuned for more updates!
