Islington: So, there’s been quite a stir lately. A guy named Ayub Dirie, 32, showed up in court after allegedly throwing some nasty homophobic comments at comedian Matt Lucas.

This all went down while Lucas was on his way to catch an Arsenal game against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. Can you believe that? Just trying to enjoy a match and then this happens!

Dirie, who lives on Plimsoll Road, only spoke to confirm his name and address during a quick hearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court. He looked pretty serious in a black coat, too.

But it gets worse. He’s also facing charges for racially aggravated harassment and for being rude to two police officers. Not a good look!

He’s been granted unconditional bail, but the case is moving to Snaresbrook Crown Court for a management hearing on January 30. Let’s hope this gets sorted out soon!
