A man faces serious charges after a hit-and-run injured two people on New Year’s Eve in Primrose Hill, London
London: So, there was this hit-and-run incident on New Year’s Eve in Primrose Hill. A guy named Daniel Sterling, 40, showed up in court recently. He’s facing some serious charges, including dangerous driving and assault.
The whole area was buzzing with people celebrating the New Year and watching fireworks. Unfortunately, things took a turn when Sterling allegedly crashed into two pedestrians and just took off. Can you believe that?
In court, the prosecutor described the whole situation as “highly dangerous.” Sterling, dressed in a grey sweater, confirmed his name and address but didn’t say much else.
He’s also in trouble for causing serious injury by dangerous driving, not providing a drug test, and even having a knife in public. Plus, there’s a racially aggravated public order charge related to a security guard. He’s been held in custody and will be back in court on February 3.
Police were called right after midnight when they heard about the crash. Apparently, the driver didn’t stop and hit another pedestrian while speeding away. Thankfully, one of the victims, a 21-year-old, only had minor injuries. The other guy, a 59-year-old, needed some medical attention but his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
Good to know the police said this incident isn’t linked to any terror-related activities. Just a wild night gone wrong, I guess.
