A man has been sentenced to four years for ramming a police motorcyclist while driving a stolen car
Southampton: So, there was this wild incident where a guy named Marvin Geddes got four years in jail for ramming a police motorcyclist with a stolen car. Crazy, right?
It all went down when the police tried to pull him over because they thought his Honda Civic had cloned plates. Instead of stopping, he took off, driving like a maniac.
He was going the wrong way on roundabouts, running red lights, and just being reckless. During the chase, he hit Pc Derek Hearn, who was on his motorcycle. The dash-cam footage is pretty shocking.
After hitting the officer, Geddes didn’t even stick around. He sped off and crashed into another car before ditching his Honda and running away on foot.
Turns out, the Honda was stolen back in March 2023. Pc Hearn said he felt lucky to be alive after that close call. He’s just trying to do his job and keep people safe.
Superintendent Mark Lewis was really upset about the whole thing. He said it’s a reminder of how dangerous police work can be. No one should have to face that kind of violence just for doing their job.
