A man has been sentenced to two years in prison after police found a stash of drugs in his car during a stop in central London
London: A 36-year-old guy named Andrei Gherghe just got two years behind bars. He was caught with a bunch of drugs in his car, including cocaine, LSD, and magic mushrooms.
It all went down on October 11 when the police noticed him acting a bit shady on Eastcheap. They decided to pull him over, and that’s when things got interesting.
A police dog sniffed out something suspicious in the car. Turns out, there was a hidden compartment in the center console where Gherghe stashed the drugs, worth around £6,000.
They also found a lock knife in the vehicle, which didn’t help his case. Gherghe admitted to having the drugs with the intent to sell them, and he also had some other charges like driving without insurance.
City of London Detective Constable Emma Martin made it clear that they’re serious about tackling drug issues in the area. She said they’ll keep going after those involved in drug dealing.
In the end, Gherghe got two years in prison and lost his driving privileges for the same amount of time. A tough lesson learned, for sure!
