Birmingham: The city is facing a serious flytipping problem. You wouldn’t believe the stuff people are dumping! From toilets to fridges, it’s a real mess.

An online map shows just how bad it is, with reports coming in from all over. Areas like Sutton Coldfield and Small Heath are not spared. It’s everywhere!

Since the start of the year, residents have been reporting flytipping like crazy. Over 24,000 incidents were logged on FixMyStreet, which also tracks other issues like potholes.

People are really frustrated. They’re sharing photos of the rubbish piled up on sidewalks, making it hard to walk around. It’s not just an eyesore; it’s a safety issue too.

On January 3 alone, 17 reports came in. One person even shared a pic of a washing machine just sitting there in Harborne. Another area was completely blocked by junk!

One local said it’s impossible to walk safely, especially for kids. They’ve been complaining for months, but nothing seems to change.

Another report showed a clothes horse and some metal bits dumped on the street. And can you believe someone left a toilet bowl in a park? It’s been reported before, too!

People are also finding mattresses and old toys tossed out after the holidays. It’s like a dumping ground out there!

One resident in Harborne even asked the council to find out who’s responsible for dumping a mattress. They want it gone ASAP!

Another report showed piles of rubbish and an abandoned caravan. This spot has been a flytipping hotspot for years. It’s frustrating for everyone living nearby.

Cllr Majid Mahmood is urging folks to report flytipping through their ‘Brum Account.’ He’s serious about tackling this issue and wants to hold offenders accountable.

He said there’s no excuse for this kind of behavior. There are plenty of ways to dispose of waste properly, so why are people still doing this?

They’re ready to take action against those who dump waste, and they’ve had success in the past with high-profile cases. If you see flytipping, don’t hesitate to report it!

Have you had issues with flytipping? They want to hear from you, so reach out!
