A large-scale search is taking place along the Kent coast, involving multiple emergency services and rescue teams
Hythe: A big search operation is happening right now on the Kent coast. It all kicked off this afternoon when emergency services got the call just before 3 PM.
You’ve got police, paramedics, and even a helicopter buzzing around the area. Lifeboats are out there too, searching the waters near Hythe and Sandgate.
Coastguard crews are walking along the shore, keeping an eye on the sea. One lifeboat is about 500 meters offshore, while another is checking near Sandgate.
There are a bunch of coastguard vehicles and police cars parked near the BP garage on Seabrook Road. It’s quite the scene!
A coastguard spokesperson mentioned they’re responding to an incident at Princes Parade in Hythe. The alarm went off around 2 PM, and they’ve got teams from all over the place, including RNLI lifeboats from Dungeness and Dover.
Kent Police are also on the scene, and it looks like this situation is still developing. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more!
