Meat & Greet BBQ in Bury St Edmunds has officially opened, welcoming its first customers with excitement and a special soft launch offer
Bury St Edmunds: A new steakhouse has just opened its doors, and it’s called Meat & Greet BBQ. Owners Lee and Laura Gaught are thrilled to welcome their first customers after months of hard work.
They took over the old Baskervilles spot and have been preparing for this moment since June. Lee, who started the business in 2019, has built a solid reputation with his mobile food van, serving up delicious grilled steaks and burgers at local markets and events.
This is Lee’s first restaurant, and he’s running it with Laura, who recently left her teaching job. They’re both excited about this new chapter and grateful for the support they’ve received from the community.
Lee mentioned that they’ve already had around 500 reservations since launching their booking system, which is pretty impressive! They’re also running a two-week soft launch with 20% off all food, so it’s a great time to check it out.
While most evenings are booked, there’s still room for walk-ins and lunch. Lee wants everyone to feel welcome, saying they’re not an exclusive place. They’re just excited to serve delicious food to everyone.
At the restaurant, you can expect a live-fire cooking experience with prime cuts of meat like sirloin and ribeye. Plus, there’s a dry-aged fridge where you can choose your steak right in front of you!
For now, they’re starting with 50 seats, but that will double after January 22 when the downstairs area opens up. They’re open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday, and on Mondays, they’ll offer any leftover steaks at a discount.
