A driver swerved dangerously on major roads before crashing, avoiding jail despite a high alcohol reading
Medway: A driver had a wild ride on the M25, A21, and A25, swerving all over the place for about ten minutes. Walerij Mirosznikow, 53, was caught on camera driving erratically and even going the wrong way. It’s a miracle no one got hurt.
He was pulled over after crashing into the Beggars Lane roundabout in Westerham. The judge said it was shocking that he didn’t cause any injuries or damage to other vehicles. Mirosznikow blew a breath-alcohol reading of 136 micrograms, way over the legal limit of 35mcg.
Despite his reckless driving, he got a suspended sentence instead of jail time. The judge noted that he hadn’t touched alcohol since the incident and seemed genuinely remorseful. His lawyer argued that this was a one-off due to personal issues, including a recent marriage breakdown.
In the end, he received a 12-month jail term suspended for 18 months, 200 hours of community service, and a one-year driving ban. He’ll also have to pay court costs. It’s a tough lesson learned, but at least he’s taking steps to turn things around.
