Two men face charges after police uncovered a massive cannabis farm in South Shields, valued at £2 million
South Shields: So, two guys, aged 43 and 45, got nabbed after the cops found this huge cannabis farm on Commercial Road. It all went down on January 6.
The police brought in dogs and armed officers, and they even had to use a chainsaw to get into the place. Talk about a dramatic entrance!
They discovered over 2,000 plants, which are worth a whopping £2 million. This all started because someone reported some dodgy activity going on.
Officers are sticking around to check things out and safely take down the farm, especially since they found that the electricity had been tampered with.
The two men were set to face a magistrate in South Tyneside the next day. Chief Inspector Phil Baker from Northumbria Police made it clear that this kind of crime isn’t welcome in the area.
He mentioned that these large farms can really mess up local communities and are often tied to serious crime. Nobody wants that kind of trouble nearby.
Phil also encouraged folks to keep reporting anything suspicious so the police can jump on it quickly. He thanked everyone involved in the investigation for helping shut down this harmful operation.
