Ryan Finlay, 29, has been sentenced for drug supply offenses in Inverness after a police operation revealed his role in a County Line.
He got caught up in a police operation that was a joint effort between Police Scotland and Merseyside Police. They were onto him for running a County Line, which is basically a way to move drugs from cities to other areas in the UK.
Finlay admitted to being involved in supplying cocaine and even had some cannabis on him. The cops found the drugs at his place, and that was it for him. He was taken into custody and later appeared in court in Liverpool.
Detective Inspector Gary Stratton, who’s part of a project aimed at tackling these County Lines, said organized crime really messes up communities. It often brings violence and fear, and they hope this sentence sends a message to others thinking about getting involved in illegal activities.
He emphasized that these criminals don’t care about borders, so sharing information and resources is key to stopping them. They want to protect vulnerable people and cut these County Lines out for good.
Stratton also mentioned that tips from the public are super important in breaking down these crime groups. If anyone knows something, they should definitely speak up.
