A seven-year-old boy was caught riding a scrambler bike on public roads, leaving police astonished and concerned for his safety.
Merseyside: So, get this! Police were pretty shocked when they spotted a scrambler bike being driven all over the place. Turns out, the rider was just a seven-year-old kid!
This little guy, who was riding solo, told the officers he got the bike as a Christmas gift. Can you believe it?
The police were called after some folks noticed the bike being ridden dangerously in Huyton on New Year’s Eve. When they arrived, they saw the kid riding it all over the place.
Now, it’s against the law to ride scrambler bikes on public roads, especially with a child at the helm. Inspector Brian Loughran from the local police team expressed his worries about the situation.
He mentioned that it’s not just illegal but also super dangerous for a kid to be out there on the roads. They ended up seizing the bike as part of their operation to tackle these issues.
While they don’t want to take away kids’ Christmas presents, they’d rather do that than have to deal with a serious accident. Parents, beware! If you let your kids ride these bikes, you could face legal trouble.
These noisy bikes are a big problem in many neighborhoods across the UK, causing a lot of trouble. Just last year, a politician called them a “nightmare for communities” and promised to give police more power to handle the situation.
Stopping such a young kid on the roads isn’t common, but it’s not the first time. Last March, North Yorkshire police stopped an 11-year-old driving a BMW on the motorway while towing a suspected stolen caravan. Wild, right?
