Barnet: So, here’s the scoop. A Premier League player was first arrested back in July 2022 on suspicion of rape. The police have now handed over a full file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service.

This player, whose name is kept under wraps for legal reasons, was arrested at a Barnet address. He was later rearrested while in custody after more allegations came to light involving two other incidents from 2021. Since then, he’s been out on bail, which keeps getting extended, and he was questioned again last November.

Interestingly, the police mentioned that they won’t be taking any further action regarding one of the incidents from June 2021 due to a technicality. A spokesperson for the Met said they’re looking into several reports of alleged sexual offences from 2021 to 2023. They’ve passed everything to the CPS and are still working closely with them.

It seems like more victims have come forward, with reports suggesting that four women have made formal accusations against him. Despite all this, the 31-year-old player is still playing for his club. The club has known about the allegations since late 2021, according to reports.
