A 24-year-old man has been sentenced for attempting to murder a girl he groomed online
Middlesbrough: A 24-year-old guy named Ellis Dismore has been sentenced to 43 years in prison. He tried to kill a 15-year-old girl he had groomed online. It’s a pretty shocking case.
This all went down in June 2023 when the girl got off her school bus. Dismore attacked her in broad daylight, stabbing her multiple times. Thankfully, a driver saw what was happening and rushed in to help her.
Before this attack, Dismore had been sending creepy voice messages to the girl’s family. He had a history of grooming and stalking young girls, using fake profiles to trick them into sending him indecent images.
After the attack, police found out about his other crimes, leading to a total of 16 convictions. It’s just awful how he manipulated these young girls.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Hamilton spoke out about the case, praising the bravery of the victims. He made it clear that Dismore is a dangerous predator who can’t hurt anyone else now that he’s behind bars.
Rani Govender from the NSPCC also chimed in, saying this case shows how important it is for tech companies to make their platforms safer for kids. It’s a scary world out there, and we need to protect our young ones.
If anyone has concerns about a child’s safety, they can reach out to Childline or the NSPCC for help. It’s crucial to keep our kids safe.
