Birmingham’s Hagley Road faces severe congestion, ranking second in the UK for traffic growth, causing delays for many drivers.
Birmingham: So, it turns out that Hagley Road is a real headache for drivers. It’s been named the second most congested road in the whole country! Can you believe it? Traffic has shot up by a whopping 357% from 2021 to 2023.
Being stuck in traffic is the worst, right? The A456 is one of the busiest routes in and out of Birmingham, and during rush hour, it can feel like you’re going nowhere fast. It’s frustrating for everyone trying to get somewhere.
Some of this traffic surge is probably due to folks getting back on the road after the pandemic. But still, it’s crazy to think that only the A54, which runs from the East Midlands to the North West, has seen more congestion than Hagley Road.
Experts from Dick Lovett shared this info, and it’s eye-opening. They looked at data from the Department for Transport and found that the A54 had a 367% increase in traffic. But if you’re driving on the A456, you better brace yourself for some serious delays this winter.
