Oldham: So, there’s been some drama lately. A UK minister, Andrew Gwynne, just clapped back at Elon Musk. Musk has been tweeting a lot about the grooming gangs issue and how the UK government is handling it.

Gwynne suggested Musk should stick to American politics instead of poking his nose into UK matters. He pointed out that there have already been inquiries into this serious issue, like the ones in Telford and Rotherham.

He emphasized that what’s really needed is justice for the victims, not more inquiries. Musk, on the other hand, has been pretty vocal, even calling for a general election in the UK and saying some pretty harsh things about government officials.

He even claimed that the Prime Minister failed to bring justice when he was in charge of prosecutions. Musk’s comments have stirred quite a bit of controversy, especially when he said safeguarding minister Jess Phillips should be in prison.

Phillips responded by saying it’s up to Oldham Council to decide on any inquiries, not the government. Musk didn’t hold back, saying she deserves prison time for her stance.

Meanwhile, Kemi Badenoch, the Tory leader, is calling for a full national inquiry into the grooming gangs scandal, saying it’s long overdue. She believes 2025 should be the year victims finally get justice.

Others, like shadow home secretary Chris Philp, are also pushing for a statutory inquiry in Oldham. It’s a hot topic, and many feel the government hasn’t done enough over the years.

An Oldham Council spokesman reassured that survivors are at the heart of their work to combat child exploitation. They’re committed to listening to what the survivors want.

In the midst of all this, Nigel Farage chimed in, criticizing the Conservatives for not launching an inquiry during their time in power. Musk seems to agree, hinting at a possible donation to Farage’s party.

The whole situation is pretty intense, especially with the Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse highlighting the epidemic of child abuse in the UK. It’s a tough conversation, and many are hoping for real change soon.
