People are saying this is just the start of something great for the town. Last September, the community got a sneak peek of the building, which is right next to the Blue Seaway park.
After a year of construction, the centre is now ready for action. It features a big multi-use hall and even a Changing Places toilet for accessibility.
Just this week, the MAC café opened, and locals are thrilled to check it out. The centre manager, Linda Webster, shared how excited they are to finally be open.
While the gym still needs a few finishing touches, the café and activity spaces are already buzzing with activity. Linda mentioned that the community’s support has been phenomenal.
She emphasized that the centre is all about working with the community to create a welcoming space. They’re also planning to move the town library to the MAC, which will be a fantastic addition.
