A horrific shooting in Montenegro has left 12 dead, including children, as the nation mourns the tragic loss of innocent lives in Cetinje
Cetinje: A man went on a shooting spree, killing 12 people, including two kids, before taking his own life. It’s a shocking event that has left the community reeling.
The shooter, 45-year-old Aleksandar Aco Martinovic, started his rampage after a fight at a restaurant. He first shot four people there before moving on to other locations.
Among the victims were the restaurant owner and his children, as well as some of Martinovic’s own family members. It’s just heartbreaking.
After the attack, he turned the gun on himself, which ended one of the worst mass shootings in Montenegro’s history. The whole country is in mourning.
The government declared three days of national mourning, and President Jakov Milatovic expressed his shock and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.

Reports say Martinovic had been drinking heavily and had a history of illegal weapons possession. After the altercation, he went home, grabbed a gun, and returned to the restaurant.
Police quickly sealed off the area and launched a manhunt. When they found him, he tried to take his own life again but sadly succumbed to his injuries later.
The interior minister mentioned that they’re looking into emergency measures to prevent such violence in the future. It’s a serious issue that needs addressing.
Prime Minister Milojko Spajic called it a “terrible tragedy” and hinted at possibly tightening gun ownership laws. But, given the country’s history with firearms, it might not be easy.
Four others were also injured, with one in critical condition. Thankfully, authorities confirmed that this incident wasn’t linked to organized crime.
This isn’t the first time Cetinje has faced such violence. Just last year, another gunman killed 10 people in a similar rampage. It’s a troubling pattern that needs to be broken.
