A grieving mother shares her fears after her 14-year-old son was fatally stabbed on a London bus, highlighting the ongoing violence in the city.
London: A mother is heartbroken after her 14-year-old son was killed in a stabbing on a bus. Mary Bokassa shared her fears about letting him leave home.
Kelyan Bokassa was attacked on a double-decker bus in Woolwich. It happened around 2:30 PM, and he sadly died shortly after. Mary said she always worried when he went out.
She recalled how she would wait for him to come home, her heart racing every time he walked out the door. When the police came to her home, she knew her worst fears had come true.
Mary described Kelyan as a generous boy who loved to make her happy. He once wrote “I love you mum” in lipstick on the wall, which she cherishes deeply.
She mentioned how he was taken into care when he was younger but fought hard to return to her. They had just gotten a puppy together, and he was excited about adopting another pet.
In a statement, she said Kelyan was kind, caring, and had a great sense of humor. He loved football and supported Arsenal. Sadly, he and his friends were targeted by gangs.
Kelyan attended St Columba’s Catholic Boys School, where staff expressed their sadness over his loss. They offered support to students affected by this tragedy.
London’s Mayor, Sadiq Khan, called the attack “heart-breaking violence” and emphasized that such acts have no place in the city. He urged anyone with information to come forward.
Last year, ten teenagers lost their lives in London, mostly due to stabbings. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of youth violence in the capital.
