A recent drive on the M6 revealed many drivers disregarding speed limits, raising safety concerns.
Wednesbury: So, I was driving on the M6 during rush hour, and it was a real eye-opener. The weather was pretty dreary, with a light rain making everything feel a bit gloomy. But what really caught my attention was how many drivers were just zooming past, completely ignoring the speed limit.
You know that stretch between Junction 10a and Junction 9? It’s always a mess, and this day was no different. The traffic was building up, and to help with that, they had set the speed limit to 60mph. You’d think that would make people slow down, right? Nope, not at all.
The signs were flashing bright red, but most drivers just kept speeding along, some even hitting over 70mph. It was like they didn’t care about the cameras or the fines waiting for them. I mean, come on, the Highway Code is pretty clear about this stuff.
Rule 261 says you shouldn’t exceed the speed limit when those red signs are up. It’s a simple rule, but it seems like a lot of folks just brush it off. It’s a bit scary, honestly, seeing so many people ignoring such an important safety guideline.
