Angus Larder and Grill, a favorite spot near the A90, has closed due to rising costs and financial pressures affecting many businesses.
Angus: The Angus Larder and Grill at Balnabriech was a hit for folks traveling on the A90 near Brechin. It opened just two years ago and quickly became a go-to spot.
Sadly, they announced on social media that they had to close up shop. Rising costs, higher national insurance, and soaring energy prices were just too much to handle. They shut their doors for good on Tuesday.
The restaurant also mentioned they’re not alone in this struggle. Many businesses are facing similar fates, and they certainly won’t be the last to close.
In their heartfelt Facebook post, they shared, “It is with a heavy heart that today we closed our wonderful Brechin restaurant, Angus Grill and Larder.”
They’ve been a staple in the Brechin area, serving everyone from commuters to locals, all while showcasing local produce and spirits.
Unfortunately, the rising costs and taxes made it impossible to keep going. They expressed gratitude to their staff and are working to help them find new jobs.
Chef manager Kieran Turner and Will Macpherson opened the venue back in January 2022, transforming the old Bonnybreich Coffee Bothy into a cozy cafe and restaurant.
