A murder investigation is underway following the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old in Derbyshire, prompting police appeals for information.
Ilkeston: So, there’s been a really tragic incident in Derbyshire. An 18-year-old guy was stabbed to death, and now the police are on the case.
It all went down on Heanor Road around 8:20 PM on Saturday. The police got a call about a stabbing and rushed to the scene.
When they arrived, they found the young man on the road with a stab wound. Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead right there.
His family has been informed and are getting support from specially-trained officers, which is good to hear.
The East Midlands special operations unit is leading the murder investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Claudia Musson is asking anyone who knows anything to come forward.
