A murder investigation is underway after a well-liked schoolboy was fatally stabbed while heading to a bus station in Bedford
Bedford: A tragic incident unfolded when a 17-year-old schoolboy named Thomas Taylor was stabbed while walking to the bus station. He was well-liked and respected by his peers.
It happened just before 6 PM on Wednesday. Thomas was attacked by a group of men, and despite being rushed to the hospital, he sadly didn’t make it.
The attackers, described as a group of Black males in dark clothing, fled the scene towards a nearby car park. The police have cordoned off several areas in the town center as they investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Katie Dounias is leading the investigation. She expressed how shocking it is for a young boy to lose his life in such a public place.
She urged anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to come forward. There are also warnings about sharing videos or images related to the attack on social media.
Thomas’s headteacher at Bedford Academy shared heartfelt tributes, highlighting how popular and respected he was among students. The school community is devastated by this loss.
This incident comes just a day after another tragic stabbing of a 14-year-old boy in London, raising concerns about knife crime in the area.
