Residents of Weston-super-Mare can breathe easy as the source of a foul smell has been found and fixed by local authorities
Weston-super-Mare: So, there’s been this awful smell hanging around in Weston-super-Mare, and folks were really fed up with it. But good news! They’ve finally figured out where it was coming from.
A local councillor, Ciaran Cronnelly, stepped in to help. He mentioned that the smell was bothering both homes and businesses in areas like Weston Village and Hutton Moor. It was a real nuisance!
Turns out, the stinky situation was linked to a waste and recycling company that had an anaerobic digester near the Hutton Moor roundabout. Not the best neighbor, right?
Cllr Cronnelly got the Environment Agency involved to check things out. They found some minor leaks at the plant, and thankfully, repairs were made just a few days ago. Fingers crossed that this fixes the problem!
He also said they’ll keep an eye on things to make sure the smell doesn’t come back. If it does, residents should definitely reach out to the Environment Agency. They’ve got a hotline for that!
So, here’s hoping everyone in Weston can enjoy some fresh air again soon!
