Natasha Hill and Karen Bright are excited to launch their dog grooming business in Ashbocking, offering quality services for furry friends.
Ashbocking: So, guess what? Natasha Hill and Karen Bright are finally making their dream come true! They’re opening Long Barn Dog Grooming at Ashleigh Farm, and they can’t wait to welcome their first furry clients.
The grand opening is set for Monday, and it’s right next to Nightingale Vets. How cool is that? They got the green light for their plans on New Year’s Eve, and now they’re ready to roll.
Natasha, who’s 43, shared how excited they are. She said, “We just thought it was too good of an opportunity to miss.” They’ve put in a lot of effort to make the place look great, and it’s been a long journey since they first checked it out back in August.
These two friends met six years ago at a puppy training class and have been inseparable ever since. They even taught dog grooming together! Both have a real passion for animals. Natasha has three dogs, while Karen has six. Talk about a dog-loving duo!
Interestingly, Karen’s dog, Mina, played a big role in inspiring this venture. While Mina was at Nightingale Vets, Karen learned about the empty space next door and thought it would be perfect for a grooming business.
While waiting for the planning permission, they’ve been practicing their grooming skills on their own pets. Karen said, “It’s all come full circle,” and it’s true! Mina’s health issues led them to this exciting path.
Karen has always wanted to be a dog groomer since she was 16. After a long career as a civil servant, she retrained as a groomer in 2019. Her friends and family are super supportive and know how dedicated she is to this new adventure.
Being right next to a vet is a huge plus. If there’s ever an emergency, expert help is just a few steps away. They’re even thinking about teaming up with the vet clinic for special grooming packages.
