A new Day Club in Garstang will provide a welcoming space for older adults to connect and engage in fun activities.
Garstang: A fresh Day Club is opening up to help older folks get together and have some fun. Age UK Lancashire is behind this great initiative.
The club will kick off on Tuesday, January 28, at the United Reformed Church. It’s all about giving older people a chance to connect and enjoy various activities.
On opening day, from 10 am to 2 pm, visitors can check out what the Day Club has in store. There will be plenty of chances to make new friends and join in on some engaging activities.
Plus, attendees can look forward to a delicious two-course meal in a safe and friendly atmosphere. Sounds like a good time, right?
Age UK already runs similar clubs in places like Ormskirk, Lancaster, and Nelson. The cost is £48 for a full day or £76.90 for an enhanced experience.
These sessions are designed to boost confidence, promote independence, and keep minds active while being enjoyable and meaningful.
Pam and Amy from Age UK are spreading the word around Garstang with letters. After the opening, the club will hold regular sessions every Tuesday.
Diane Armstrong from Age UK is really excited about this new venture. She said, “We are delighted to bring this Day Club to Garstang. It’s a wonderful opportunity for older adults to enjoy meaningful connections and activities in a warm and supportive environment.”
