Worcester: The Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum is gearing up for an exciting exhibition called ‘General Dynamic F.U.N.’. It runs from January 11 to March 30, and trust me, you won’t want to miss it.

This show will feature a collection of screen prints by the legendary pop artist Sir Eduardo Paolozzi. He created these works between 1965 and 1970, and they really capture the spirit of that era. Paolozzi, who was born in Scotland and passed away in 2005, had a knack for turning everyday items into vibrant art.

His prints are full of energy and complexity, making them a big deal in the pop art scene in the UK. The exhibition includes 50 screen prints and photolithographs, all inspired by consumer culture, high fashion, and Hollywood icons.

Some of the titles are pretty quirky, like Totems and Taboos of the Nine-to-Five Day and Cary Grant as a Male War Bride. You can check them out in any order, which is cool because it mirrors the fast-paced, fragmented visuals we see in our daily lives.

Plus, the exhibition gives a fresh take on how creativity interacts with consumer culture. J.G. Ballard, a friend of Paolozzi, even called the prints a “unique guidebook to the electric garden of our minds.”

Just a heads up, though: there’s some lift upgrade work happening, so you won’t be able to access the first floor for a bit. This is all part of a three-year plan to make the gallery even better for visitors.
