Age Concern and Sovereign Network Group introduce new social and exercise groups for seniors to enhance community engagement
Southampton: Exciting news for seniors! Age Concern has teamed up with Sovereign Network Group to launch new groups where older folks can socialise, exercise, and make new friends. It’s all about creating a fun and supportive environment.
These groups will be available at selected SNG New Forest Schemes, thanks to funding from Hampshire County Council and the charity Energise Me. It’s a great way to get everyone involved in social and physical activities.
The goal is to help people stay active and connected, which is super important for both mental and physical health. Regular exercise can really boost your mood and overall well-being.
Marta Rios from SNG shared that they want to provide better homes and build strong communities. They’re investing £100 million to make a positive impact on the lives of residents.
Emily Khural from Energise Me is thrilled about this partnership. She believes it’s essential for older residents to enjoy accessible physical activities and reap the benefits of staying active.
Brogan Rehill from Age Concern Hampshire is also excited. She mentioned that these groups are perfect for older residents to engage in fun activities and connect with others while learning from guest speakers.
