Newham: There are quite a few road closures happening this month. They’re mainly for resurfacing and maintenance work. Areas like East Ham, Beckton, and Canning Town will be affected.

Newham Council, along with Transport for London and other utility companies, is behind these works. Some roads that have been closed since last year will finally reopen next month.

The Local Democracy Reporting Service has put together a list of the closed roads and when they’re expected to open. Residents can check the council’s website for more details.

Here’s a quick rundown of some closures: Priory Road in East Ham will be closed from January 13 to 15 for resurfacing. Katherine Road will be closed from January 7 to 10, and Keppel Road from January 20 to 23.

In Canning Town, Ethel Road will be closed from January 27 to 30 for Thames Water work, while Newham Way will be closed on January 10 and 11 for TfL work. There are several others, too, so it’s worth checking the full list.

Ongoing closures include Rectory Road in Manor Park, which will be closed until February 2025 for improvements. It’s a busy time for roadworks, so plan your routes accordingly!
