A man was arrested following a dangerous police chase in Newry, Co Down, after fleeing from officers during an altercation
Newry: A wild police chase went down in Newry, and it was quite the scene. A guy took off in a blue Nissan Qashqai after a fight broke out.
The police got the call about the altercation on Friday night. They were quick to respond, but the 23-year-old driver didn’t stick around. Instead, he sped off, even though he wasn’t allowed to drive.
Officers spotted him on the Dublin Road and tried to pull him over. But he just kept going, driving like a maniac. Eventually, he tried to do a three-point turn right in the middle of the road, which is when they finally caught up with him.
Now, he’s facing some serious charges, including driving without insurance and while disqualified. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but it could have been a lot worse. The police are asking anyone who saw the whole thing to reach out and share what they know.
