Daniel Thompson aims to revive the Old Crow Inn, promising a fresh start after Newmarket’s success
Newton: In August 2024, Luxe Hospitality Group reopened the Newmarket pub in Earlsetown after the previous tenants left due to a dispute with the brewery.
They did a great job sprucing up the Market Street boozer, and folks are really happy to see this landmark pub back in action.
Daniel Thompson, a local businessman, runs Luxe. He also manages the Orford Hotel in Warrington and has now added the Old Crow Inn on Crow Lane East to his growing list of pubs.
Luxe Hospitality is all about bringing the Old Crow back to its former glory. This pub has been a favorite spot for years, and it was put up for let by Star Pubs back in October 2023.
With a family connection and the success of the Newmarket, Daniel thought it was the perfect time to take over the Old Crow. He’s excited to sprinkle some “Luxe magic” on the place.
Daniel, who founded the Ava-Marie Foundation, shared, “This pub was a local of my late father, Alan Roberts, so it felt right to take over the management as soon as it became available.”
He added, “We’ve shown what we can do for the community with free family events, which have been a big hit.”
“We believe we can reinvent the Old Crow to its former glory. We can’t wait to welcome both old and new customers.”
The mayor and local councillors were even invited to the Newmarket’s reopening in August. After signing a temporary agreement with the brewery, Daniel has big plans for the Old Crow, including longer hours and a small food menu.
They’re aiming to reopen the pub next week after a little internal “spruce up,” and there will be quiz nights, karaoke, and a great selection of drinks to enjoy.
