They stress the importance of looking after both your body and mind during these times. With flu season and chilly weather, staying healthy is even more crucial.
NHS Borders has come up with five simple ways to support your health while you’re in limbo. They suggest listening to your doctors, eating well, staying in touch with loved ones, keeping active, and managing stress.
Dr. Lynn McCallum, the medical director, understands how tough it can be waiting for care. She mentioned that their services are under a lot of pressure right now.
Dr. McCallum reassured everyone that they’re prioritizing those who need help the most and are doing their best to get care to you as quickly as possible.
She also advised against calling your GP for updates, as they won’t have that info or be able to speed things up.
If you’re waiting for something, you should have received a letter from NHS Borders confirming your appointment.
And if your condition gets worse while you’re waiting, make sure to contact your hospital clinician using the number on your appointment letter.
