Northern Ireland Electricity workers assist the Republic of Ireland after Storm Éowyn. They join ESB crews and restore power to affected homes and businesses.
Workers from Northern Ireland Electricity went south. They are helping with Storm Éowyn repairs there now. This is in the Republic of Ireland, you know. These 180 workers finished their work up north here first. They restored power to over 280,000 places. That included homes, businesses, and farms.
Now, they work with local ESB crews down south. Other electricity workers are there too. They came from several European countries. Storm Eowyn caused super strong winds. Hundreds of thousands lost power all over Ireland. This affected loads of people.
The storm repair work nears completion. It is almost done. Crews now focus on rural areas. Many isolated houses need power restored.
NIE Networks sent staff south to assist. About 180 people are involved. Engineers, linesmen, and tree experts all went. They brought machines too. These helpful people work for NIE Networks. Some are from their partner companies also. They are a proper team.
The UK and Ireland have a deal, see? They help each other during storms. It is a good system for everyone involved. Northern Ireland received help from the UK also. This happened during their own storm. They want to return the favor now.
NIE Networks is grateful to their staff. They appreciate everyone helping out. Fixing this damage is important work.
