A suspected shooting in Newtownabbey has left one person hospitalized, prompting a significant police response in the area.
There was a big police presence at the scene, with armed officers and sniffer dogs. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service was also on-site, responding to the situation.
Police tape surrounded several homes in the area, indicating the seriousness of the incident. A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed that they received a 999 call around 9:40 PM.
They dispatched two emergency crews and two ambulance officers to help. After assessing the situation and providing initial treatment, one person was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
