Nottingham: A disturbing scene unfolded in Wollaton Park on New Year’s Eve. A group of men was caught on camera mistreating a stag, and it’s left many people outraged.

Photos show one guy yanking on the stag’s antlers while his friends laugh. The poor deer ended up ramming him to the ground. Can you believe that? It’s just awful. A volunteer ranger, Chris Golightly, snapped these shots and is now helping the police find these guys.

Witnesses are horrified. One woman in her 60s saw the whole thing and called the rangers. She mentioned that this isn’t the first time visitors have acted terribly around the animals. It’s really sad to hear that some people just don’t get it.

There are signs everywhere telling folks to keep their distance from the deer, but it seems like some just ignore them. Last year, someone got thrown in the air trying to snap a close-up photo of a red deer. And another stag had to be put down after injuring a walker. It’s a real mess.

Nottinghamshire Police are asking anyone with info about this incident to step forward. Inspector Gordon Fenwick said they’re aware of the situation and want to hear from anyone who was in the park that day. If you know something, don’t hesitate to call.
