Ozzy Osbourne reunites with Black Sabbath for a final show in Birmingham on July 5th, featuring special guests and charity fundraising.
The show is titled “Back To The Beginning.” It is Black Sabbath’s first show in twenty years. Osbourne, Iommi, Butler, and Ward will perform. Other bands will also play at the event.
Metallica, Slayer, and Alice In Chains will perform. A supergroup with members from other bands exists. It includes Slash, McKagan, Corgan, Durst and Morello. Osbourne is 76 and has Parkinson’s disease.
Osbourne will do a short solo set. He will then join his bandmates for a final bow. The show will raise money for three charities. They are Cure Parkinson’s, and two children’s hospitals.
Osbourne said it is time to give back. He wants to thank the city where he was born. He feels blessed to do it with loved ones. Birmingham is the true home of metal music.
Osbourne said he was unable to tour in 2023. He never thought touring would end this way. He had spinal surgery after a fall in 2019. This fall worsened old injuries from 2003.
He has appeared at some recent shows anyway. These include the Commonwealth Games in 2022. He also played an NFL halftime show that year. Black Sabbath formed in Birmingham in 1968.
They became a very big metal band. They sold over 75 million records worldwide. Tom Morello is the show’s music director. He said it would be the greatest metal show ever.
Pantera, Gojira, and Halestorm will also play. Lamb Of God, Anthrax and Mastodon are playing too. More acts will be announced soon by organizers. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 AM.
