Ohio: A couple in Clermont County has been sentenced for horrific abuse of their five adopted sons. They treated these kids in ways that are just unimaginable, like something out of a nightmare.

Charles Edmonson, 64, and his wife, Matthew, 50, were found guilty of endangering their children. The details are gut-wrenching. They kept the boys in what looked like a dungeon, and the conditions were just awful.

Charles got 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to serious charges, including kidnapping. Matthew received 13 years for her role in the abuse. It’s hard to believe that people could do this to kids who needed love and care.

The investigation started when Charles was convicted of sexually abusing another adopted child. That led to shocking footage showing the boys in terrible conditions, huddled together in a locked basement room.

These kids, who are biological brothers, were often sick and in and out of hospitals. Their parents just ignored their needs. Thankfully, they’ve been removed from that environment and are now doing much better.

The prosecutor, Mark J. Tekulve, expressed relief that these two will no longer be able to harm children. It’s a sad reminder that not everyone who adopts is fit to be a parent.
