Altoona: Pennsylvania’s Governor Josh Shapiro is really upset about people praising the guy suspected of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. He made it clear that this guy is “no hero.”

During a press conference, Shapiro pointed out how disturbing it is that some folks are celebrating the killer instead of condemning him. It’s a pretty wild situation.

Authorities have named 26-year-old Luigi Mangione as a strong person of interest in the case. He was arrested earlier that day but hasn’t been charged with the murder yet. However, he does face gun charges.

Shapiro reminded everyone that Thompson was more than just a CEO; he was a father and a husband. He emphasized that violence is not the answer to political disagreements.

He said, “In America, we do not kill people in cold blood to resolve policy differences.” It’s a strong message, especially with the frustrations people have about the healthcare system.

Shapiro also mentioned that some people are hailing Mangione as a hero in dark corners of the internet, which he firmly rejected. “That is not how you make progress in this country,” he added.

Thompson was shot outside his hotel in Manhattan last Wednesday, and some people even celebrated his death, claiming it was revenge for health insurance denials. It’s a tough topic, and the police found shell casings at the scene with some pretty chilling words carved into them.
