An individual was hospitalized following a medical incident at the Oakleaf Sports Complex in Newton Aycliffe earlier today
Newton Aycliffe: Earlier today, an air ambulance landed at the Oakleaf Sports Complex around 3 PM. It was quite a scene!
Road paramedics were also on the scene and took one person to the hospital. Sounds serious, right?
A spokesperson from the Great North Air Ambulance mentioned that their critical care team was activated at 2:46 PM due to a medical incident at the sports complex.
They had two doctors and a paramedic on board, arriving at 2:55 PM. Talk about quick response!
The team worked with the North East Ambulance Service to assess and treat the patient, who was then taken to the hospital with the help of the road crew.
By the way, Oakleaf Sports Complex announced that the kids’ football training scheduled for 4 PM was canceled due to the incident.
A spokesperson from the North East Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the complex shortly before 2:30 PM and dispatched two ambulance crews along with a specialist paramedic.
They were also supported by the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Thankfully, one patient was taken to the hospital.
