A new Greens grocery store will open in Perth as Pizza Hut prepares to return to the area
Perth: Exciting news for locals! A new Greens grocery store is on the way, and it’s part of a project to bring back Pizza Hut to the area.
The Glenshire Group got the green light back in April 2024 to transform an old car showroom on Crieff Road into a retail space and takeaway spot.
According to The Courier, Pizza Hut will be the first to set up shop there since the previous location closed in January 2019.
And guess what? Greens is also opening its second branch in Perth, taking over the spot where McColl’s used to be on Oakbank Road.
They’re planning to spend about £50,000 on renovations, and if the council gives the thumbs up, work could kick off in the spring.
Dan Arrandale from Glenshire Group mentioned that they’re ready to start as soon as they get the building permits.
He said they’ll run Greens themselves, so it’ll be a fully occupied site with Pizza Hut right next door.
With all the new housing popping up on the western side of Perth, he believes there’s a real demand for a grocery store like Greens.
Plus, Crieff Road is super busy, so it’s a prime spot for local trade.
Dan also pointed out that having both Greens and Pizza Hut together has worked well in other places, like Kirkcaldy.
There’s parking available too, which is a bonus!
Oh, and Greens will be teaming up with Fisher and Donaldson to sell their famous fudge doughnuts at the new store.
They’re even planning another Greens in a landmark building in Scone. Exciting times ahead!
