A fire at the Toby Carvery in Bishopstoke has caused significant damage, but thankfully no injuries were reported during the incident
Bishopstoke: Firefighters were busy all night battling a huge fire at the Toby Carvery on Fair Oak Road. It all kicked off around 3:40 AM on Sunday, December 29.
Thankfully, no one got hurt, which is a relief. Six fire engines and a bunch of other equipment were on the scene to get things under control.
Now, workmen are on-site putting up scaffolding to start repairs. It’s good to see them moving quickly to fix the damage.
A local resident, who didn’t want to be named, said they’d never seen so many flashing lights. There were fire engines and even a couple of ambulances around.
It’s a bit sad, though. The resident mentioned it feels like a piece of their childhood is gone since the place used to be a doctor’s surgery before it became a pub.
The Toby Carvery team expressed their gratitude to the emergency services for their quick response. They’re working on figuring out the cause of the fire and how bad the damage is.
They also mentioned they’re reaching out to guests who had plans to visit, offering them options at nearby locations.
