Penrith: You won’t believe what the police found when they showed up at a house. Bodycam footage revealed a filthy home where a dog was left to starve.

Officers went to check on the place after seeing a large dog in the living room. The scene was heartbreaking—bare floors, a torn-up dog bed, and dog mess everywhere. One officer couldn’t help but say, “Ugh, get some air in here.”

Thinking something was off, the police came back the next day. They arrested Anya Shears, 23, and Tyler Thornton, 25, for causing unnecessary suffering to the dog.

When they searched the house, they found a large, skinny dog stuck in a room with no furniture or food. It was clear that Shears and Thornton weren’t taking care of the poor animal.

The dog was taken to a kennel, but sadly, it was in terrible shape—so underweight it was almost anorexic. The vet found overgrown nails and matted fur. Tragically, the dog had to be put down.

Shears and Thornton, who lived in Penrith, admitted to neglecting the dog. They received a five-year ban on owning animals and faced charges for having cannabis too.

PC Stewart Green from the local police said this was a shocking case of neglect. He emphasized how important it is to take animal cruelty seriously and promised to hold offenders accountable.

The video even shows an officer stepping outside, coughing from the awful smell. It’s a stark reminder of how badly some animals can be treated.
