A man was found with shocking images of animal abuse on his phone during a police search at his farm in Pembrokeshire
Haverfordwest: So, there’s this guy named Jason Birch, right? The police went to his farm and found some seriously disturbing stuff on his phone. We’re talking about photos and videos of people doing unspeakable things with animals. It’s just gross.
During the court hearing, they mentioned that some of the guys in those images looked a bit like Birch. But they weren’t charging him based on that. It’s wild how they found 137 images of what they call “extreme pornography” on his Samsung phones. Some of the stuff was just too much to even think about.
When they first interviewed him, Birch denied everything and claimed he was framed. But later, he admitted that one of the dogs in the photos looked like his own. It’s a real mess. He’s now living without a fixed address after pleading guilty to having this extreme material.
His lawyer said Birch was upfront about everything and acknowledged that the pictures were illegal. Apparently, he and his partner are in a tough financial spot, which has made things even more complicated for them.
The judge didn’t hold back, calling the material “stomach-churning” and saying Birch has a serious problem that needs to be dealt with. He got a four-month prison sentence, but it’s suspended for two years, meaning he won’t serve time unless he messes up again. Plus, he has to go through a rehabilitation program to tackle his issues. It’s a pretty intense situation all around.
