The Metropolitan Police has submitted a full evidence file regarding a Premier League footballer accused of rape to the Crown Prosecution Service.
But it doesn’t stop there. While he was in custody, he got arrested again for allegedly raping another woman in April and June of 2021. Crazy, right? The police later said they wouldn’t take any action on the June 2021 claim because the laws at that time didn’t cover it.
Fast forward to February 2023, and he was interviewed about a sexual offense that supposedly happened in Barnet in February 2022. Scotland Yard mentioned that the footballer is still under investigation for various alleged sexual offenses from 2021 to 2023.
A spokesperson from the Met said they’re looking into multiple reports of alleged sexual offenses during that time. They also confirmed that the full file has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, and detectives are working closely with the prosecutors.
They added that anyone who has come forward to the police is getting support from the Met officers. The player, who can’t be named due to legal reasons, has denied all the allegations. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
